GeoMan ANZ

About GeoMan

GeoMan ANZ is an independent geotechnical engineering reference: annotated drawings from real project types, a failure casebook built from published reports, a plain-language glossary, free design tools, and a weekly email. It is written and drawn by a practising geotechnical engineer working across marine, offshore and onshore ground engineering.

One sheet, one idea

Every drawing in the library takes a single idea from real geotechnical practice: a wall type, a test, a failure mechanism, a construction sequence. The sheet is drawn clean, annotated the way a site engineer would mark it up, and referenced to the standards and textbooks that govern it. Nothing on a sheet is decoration; if a line is there, it carries engineering meaning.

Australia, New Zealand and the UK first

Practice differs by region, so the region comes first. Sheets and write-ups work from AS and AS/NZS standards and UK practice (BS and EN codes) and note where ASTM and other systems differ. The casebook draws on reported failures worldwide, read the same way.

What is on the site

The sheet library with its topic groups and write-ups, the glossary, the failure casebook, the free pile drivability tool, the weekly email, and work with me for talks, CPD sessions, training packs and technical illustration.

How it is made

The site is built as plain static pages: no cookies of its own, no analytics or advertising scripts, nothing that follows you around. For the fields in the title block itself, see the title block key.
